Baby's first word and first step...

There are many common challenges parents face when teaching their children. Most parents are said I don't know how to teach” And children would not pay attention when parents are trying to teach them. On the other hand parents felt that lack of time is the significant challenge in teaching their child speech and language.

Occasionally when parents become too concerned about 'teaching', they end up asking a lot of questions thinking that this encourages speech. You may want to consider taking a more relaxed approach and think about just 'talking' and having a conversation.

You would want to ensure that the overall environment for your child stimulates and encourages speech and language. You want to provide opportunities for hearing speech, songs, stories etc in Baby Day Care Nursery. Make it clear to any other caregivers that they should play with the child, talk to them, and encourage speech.

When your child walks for the first time it is also a challenging and amazing time for parents. Here are some tips for such parents.

Provide your child with a push-toy, such as a play lawnmower, shopping cart or vacuum cleaner. These toys provide a baby with a supportive structure for balancing in Dubai Nursery, while also encouraging leg muscle development and healthy coordination.

Encourage your child to stand or cruise against furniture. Place your child's favorite toy on a sofa or short table and challenge her to retrieve it. Understand that if a child is not physically capable of standing or cruising, this encouragement may not be successful. If she cannot reach the object independently, don't be afraid to help her.

Nursery School in Dubai care about all these factors when we take care of your baby.

Motivating your child to study

Motivating a child for doing his/her studies is really important and it should be done at their early years itself. But most parents get into troubles while motivating their children. Sometimes instead of motivating the child what most parents do is yelling at the kid which makes him/her more aggressive. And when motivating a child you should keep in your mind that motivation factor which motivates your child will differ from child to child. Something which motivates another child may not motivate your child also. I know what the big question is, how to motivate your child in a correct way? Here are few guidelines for you.

First thing is Setting Proper Expectations. Expect your child to succeed, and her chances for success improve greatly. Children are usually strongly aware of how their parents view them, and think about them and they often modify their actions according to those views. So it’s really important to have high expectations.  And you should communicate them to your child. Talk kindly but honestly with your child about where she thinks her interests and abilities are, and where she thinks she has less interest and ability. Then share your own opinions. And talking about those only once is not enough. You should re-evaluate those when you think it is needed. Your child will grow and change, and so will her interests and abilities

Second point is helping your child to set goals. Only expectations are not enough. You have to change those expectations into goals in order to make them a success. Knowing what he is expected to do will guide your child into correct direction. Here are some ways to help your child set meaningful goals
  •       Write the goals down.
  •       Make the goals specific.
  •       Make the goals measurable.

Third is showing your child that you think Dubai nursery is important. You should show your enthusiasm for education in a variety of ways. Under that first thing you should do is maintaining a good relationship with your child’s teacher. Tell the teacher about your expectations and your child’s goals. Ask her for suggestions on achieving them. Also ask the teacher about her expectations and goals for your child. Then you should support the programs at your child’s school by attending school events. Show your child that being at school is a priority for you. And something you must keep in your mind is education is not just limited to your child’s school. There are certain activities which should be done in home also. So
creating a suitable environment for homework is the next important step. Make sure your child has a quiet, well-lit place to study. Ask her to let you know which supplies she needs, and offer to pick them up for her. And you should be aware of what she is studying as well as the status of preschool activities, assignments, tests and class projects.

Forth is to support your child’s learning style. Your child is more likely to want to learn if he uses the learning style that feels. Help him figure out, and use, his best learning style.
There are 3 types of learners;
  •          Auditory learner : Hearing, such as listening to a talk or a book on tape? If so, he may be an auditory learner. He enjoys music and hearing stories. Auditory learners feel motivated and engaged when they can incorporate more listening into schoolwork.
  •           Visual learner  : Seeing, such as reading a book or a graph? If so, he may be a visual learner. He appreciates artwork, movies and the live theater. Visual learners feel more motivated and engaged when they can incorporate more seeing into their schoolwork. Here are some ways to motivate a visual learner
  •           Kinesthetic learner  : Doing, such as building a model or preparing a chart? If so, he may be a kinesthetic learner. He loves to move, making recess and exercise critical parts of his school day. He would much rather participate than sit and watch. He likes using his hands to create things. Kinesthetic learners feel more motivated and engaged when they can incorporate more doing into their schoolwork.

Those are few tips to make your child motivated for studies. Most parents enjoy praising their children with words like “good job!” and “that looks great!” But research shows that encouragement that has a bigger effect than praise on a child’s motivation. So make sure you encourage your child rather than praise.

So how we can decide whether our child is motivated or not. We can identify that by observing their characteristics. Motivated child will choose tasks that are challenging where as a child who is not motivated choose work that is inappropriately easy. And they begin tasks without having to be prodded and show serious effort and concentration to complete that task. They have a positive attitude toward learning and preschool activities . They use coping strategies to get through the rough times whereas a child who is not motivated give up quickly when the going gets rough. And they stick with tasks until successful completion

Above mentioned facts are the things which you can do to encourage your child from your side. But there should be a great contribution from your child’s nursery environment also for motivation. If your child is studying in a motivating environment from his early ages itself then it is likely that he would keep the same attitude about his studies in future also.

British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The Principles.

It is really important to identify what is the curriculum followed by your kid's nursery. Most of the time parents are tend to go for the nurseries with British curriculum. So here are some information about British curriculum.

A Unique Child –  recognises that every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured

Positive Relationships - describes how children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.

Enabling Environments - explains that the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.

Learning and Development - recognises that children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates, and that all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.

Embedded within the principles of the EYFS are six areas of Early Learning -How do we put these into practice?

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication, Language and Literacy
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
  • Knowledge and Understanding of the World
  • Physical Development
  • Creative Development

Why Preschool Education Is Important

Do you know that the first 4 years of your child's life is crucial for their mental development? As your child ages, the mental growth percentage would be lesser than that of first 4 years.

From birth until 4 years of age, the rate of your child's mental growth is at 50%. Progressively, this rate of growth will lessen to 30% at 8 years old and further drop to 20% at 18 years old. In first 4 years brain of a kid is forming important neural paths to help develop the child's ability to perform and function and learn well. Children are able to learn at a rapid rate and want and need to learn new information.

In other words, mental growth from birth until 4 years old is just as rapid as it is from the age of 4 to 18 years old.Says that at this age their child's brain is like a sponge. Their brain absorbs information and stores it, often feeling saturated with new input

Therefore social skills are important to learn at preschools at this age rather than waiting until kindergarten age or later. One of the reasons older children may have difficulty in school is that they never really learned the social skills in preschool

Your child can benefit when interacting in a quality preschool which is content rich with appropriate information and materials.
